Climate tech: directory, jobs board and more - an update
Good morning, fellow climate tech-ers! (or good afternoon, or evening, because time zones…)
Welcome to Issue no. 3 of Coding Climate‘s climate tech monthly newsletter.
Schedules
Yup, this newsletter currently goes out monthly. Will that remain as the sending schedule? Like with everything in life… that depends. When more regular exciting things happen, it may change to fortnightly.
But, I doubt I’d send it more often than that. I’m sure everyone can relate: my inbox is pretty full of unread newsletters that I swear I’m going to read as soon as I have time, and yet they keep on piling up.
When I’ll get time to read those that come in twice a week is anyone’s guess. I’m not holding my breath…
So, for now, monthly seems to work just fine. Yes?
Anyway, on to the news:
Who’s Who in Climate Tech - a directory
Last month I promised the world in terms of a shiny new climate tech “who’s who“ directory AND a climate tech jobs board.
So, where are they?
Awkward…
Well, the directory is very much on its way. In fact, I’ve created it already. Go me!
That being said, I’m still busy populating it. There are a LOT of players out there in the climate tech game, so I at least want to launch with a fair chunk of them listed.
Not ideal:
* Trumpet noises ring out *
“Welcome to the Who’s Who in Climate Tech Directory!“
* Four listings show up… *
Nearly there! I promise!
Climate Tech jobs board
As for the jobs board? Well, that’s also nearly there. I’ve found a fancy WordPress plugin that seems to do the job quite nicely. This is after road-testing quite a few of them.
One early version even had the audacity to break my website. How rude! Needless to say, it was swiftly given its marching orders and I moved onto the next contender.
So, I imagine that’ll launch soon, albeit rather empty upon launch, as I invite recruiters to post their free climate tech job listings on the board.
On that note, I see another climate tech account launched their similar jobs board within the last few days, and they already appear delighted as to how popular it’s proving to be.
My thoughts on that?
Well, here’s my opinion, posted from my personal Twitter account (Coding Climate’s own Twitter account is at @codingclimate. hint hint for both… 😉)
So, I have no intention of letting that stop me. Climate tech is experiencing massive growth at the moment. There’s plenty of space for both of us and then some!
Coding Climate on Instagram
Let’s see, what else 🤔?
I know! Coding Climate is now on Instagram too. If you’re there, smash that Follow button and let’s connect. It’s quiet in there at the moment. Here’s the link.
I think that’s about it for this issue. You’re a busy individual doing important climate work, so I like to keep it brief.
Thanks for tuning in. Also, thanks for not leaving this as unread. I really appreciate it!
Do you know anyone else who’d enjoy this newsletter? Please, by all means, share it far and wide.
Until the next time,
Stuart
